Home Improvement Made Easy
Liz and Brock Haldeman loved their vintage Chicago area home, but knew it needed some major improvement. They searched extensively for a home improvement contractor they could trust, and selected Normandy Builders.
First, they wanted the exterior to look like it did when it was originally built. This meant removing the stucco, siding the exterior and adding a large porch. Second, they needed more room so they added on to the back of the house. This allowed them to have a bigger kitchen, a family room and mudroom on the main floor. On the second floor they added a master bedroom and bathroom. They even raised the roof so that they could have an office area in the attic.
“We selected Normandy Builders for this huge project because we had seen several of their home additions in our neighborhood and they looked seamless. Additionally, we are both busy so we needed a company that could provide a completely turnkey experience,” explains Liz. “After the first meeting with our designer Stephanie Bryant we knew we had made the right decision. Stephanie exceeded all of our expectations because of her passion, dedication and desire to make us happy.”
“During the construction our project manager always kept us informed. Even after our project was considered complete and the workers were out, we had a few things that needed to be adjusted. When we called Normandy they took care of our concerns immediately,” says Liz. “Our home is beautiful. You can’t even tell the original structure from the addition. We got everything we wanted and more. Our friends and family have gone through horrible remodeling experiences. When we tell our story, they are incredibly envious and have trouble believing that we had a pleasant, fun experience.”
